How it works
How we compare pharmacy prices
We collect the prices from the pharmacy chains' online catalogues and match them to products. Each chain charges the same online catalogue price in its pharmacies, so we rightly talk about “chain X is cheaper”, not about a particular pharmacy on the street. For each town we take only the chains physically present there and compare, product by product, which has the lowest price and which the highest.
Nobody has the lowest prices on everything: some chains are aggressive on dermocosmetics, others on high-volume over-the-counter products or supplements. That is why the comparison is useful locally. For reimbursed medicines, the price is capped by CANAMED, but for over-the-counter products and supplements the differences can be large.

We collect the prices from the pharmacy chains' online catalogues — 149,532 offers from 12 chains, for 88,578 products. For each town we show the chains physically present there and, for the products they have in common, which chain has the lowest price and which the highest. -
How many towns have a price comparison?
66 towns — those with at least 3 pharmacy chains with online prices physically present in the town. Only then is a comparison between chains locally relevant. -

Per chain. Each chain charges the same online catalogue price in its pharmacies, so we say “chain X is cheaper”, not “the pharmacy on Y street”. For each pharmacy's address and hours, see the town or chain page.
