1. Acceptance of the Terms
These Terms of Service (hereinafter the “Terms”) govern your access to the hartafarmacii.ro website and the use of the services offered through it (hereinafter the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service you agree to comply with these Terms in their entirety. If you do not agree with any of the provisions below, please do not use the Service.
We reserve the right to update these Terms from time to time — see the dedicated section for how changes are communicated.
2. Description of the service
HartaFarmacii is an independent price comparison tool for over-the-counter (OTC) medicines, food supplements and dermocosmetic products sold by Romanian pharmacies, together with a geographic location service for pharmacies based on public data from OpenStreetMap. The Service is provided free of charge, without requiring registration or a user account.
HartaFarmacii does not sell medicines, does not process payments, does not take orders and is not a party to any commercial transaction between you and a pharmacy. We are not a commercial partner, affiliate or distributor of any of the pharmacy chains we index. Our role is purely informational: we collect public data and present it in a unified interface.
Prices shown on the site are indicative, collected automatically from public sources (pharmacy catalog pages, schema.org Product metadata) and may be a few hours up to 24 hours old. The actual price and availability at the pharmacy counter may differ; always confirm with the chosen pharmacy directly before travelling or buying.
3. User accounts
As of the last update of these Terms, the Service does not offer user accounts. All functionality (search, map, filtering, price display) is accessible anonymously.
If we introduce accounts in the future (for example to save favourite pharmacies or price alerts), these Terms will be updated with a dedicated section: password rules, account responsibility, deletion procedure, confidentiality of authentication data.
4. Acceptable use
By using the Service you undertake not to:
- perform mass or automated scraping of the site (for such needs we offer a free public API);
- attempt to bypass rate limits, anti-abuse mechanisms or other security controls;
- redistribute the editorial content of the site (texts, guides, original photographs) without proper attribution and a link to source;
- use the Service for unlawful, deceptive or bad-faith activities, including but not limited to phishing, fraud or disinformation;
- alter or disrupt the operation of the site through code injection, DDoS attacks, automated probes, brute force or other offensive techniques.
We provide a free public API with reasonable rate limits
(60 requests per minute for the /api/pharmacies.geojson
endpoint). For higher volumes or commercial use cases, please contact us
in advance.
5. Intellectual property
The original content of HartaFarmacii — the interface design, editorial texts, logo, icons, proprietary source code, guide articles and derived data structures — is protected by copyright law and belongs to the operator of the site, © 2026 HartaFarmacii. All rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved.
Partial reproduction of our editorial content is permitted provided the source is clearly credited (“Source: hartafarmacii.ro”) and an active link to the original article is included. Full or systematic reproduction requires prior written consent.
Data from third-party sources remains the property of its authors:
- OpenStreetMap — geographic data (pharmacy coordinates, addresses, raster tiles) is licensed under ODbL and originates from © OpenStreetMap contributors;
- Pharmacy chain logos (Dona, Catena, Farmacia Tei, Dr. Max and others) belong to their respective owners and are used purely descriptively, within the limits of fair use (journalistic and educational);
- CANAMED data — the National Catalogue of Maximum Medicine Prices — is published by the Romanian Ministry of Health and reproduced under the applicable public-information rules.
If you are the rights holder of a piece of content published on HartaFarmacii and wish to have it taken down, send a written notice to contact@hartafarmacii.ro. We respond within 7 business days and assess the request in good faith.
6. Links to external websites
The Service contains links to third-party websites — mainly the sites of indexed online pharmacies, as well as other public resources (the Romanian Ministry of Health, the National Medicines Agency, OpenStreetMap and so on). These links are provided for your convenience and do not imply responsibility for the content, privacy policies or commercial practices of those sites.
Links to online pharmacies are not affiliate links: HartaFarmacii does not receive any commission per click or per purchase from any of the indexed chains.
7. Limitation of liability
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without any express or implied warranty as to accuracy, completeness, reliability or continuity of operation.
The medical and medicine information published in the guide and symptom sections of the site is purely informational and does not replace advice from a licensed physician or pharmacist. Always consult a health professional for diagnosis and treatment. In a medical emergency, call the single European emergency number 112.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, HartaFarmacii and its operator are not liable for:
- medical decisions taken on the basis of information on the site — always consult a physician or pharmacist;
- differences between the price shown on the site and the real price on the pharmacy shelf or at the checkout;
- unavailability of a product at the selected pharmacy, even if the site lists it as available;
- temporary unavailability of the site (planned maintenance, technical incidents, external attacks);
- the content, operation or policies of third-party sites we link to (online pharmacies, OpenStreetMap, public institutions);
- indirect, moral, opportunity or profit losses resulting from use or inability to use the Service.
8. Amendments to the Terms
We reserve the right to amend these Terms as the Service evolves or as legal requirements change. Substantial changes will be announced via a banner visible on the main pages of the site at least 30 days before they take effect. Minor technical changes (corrections, clarifications, rewording) may be published directly with an updated date at the top of this document.
Continued use of the Service after the new Terms take effect constitutes implicit acceptance. If you disagree with the changes, the only course of action is to stop using the Service.
9. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Romania and, by extension, by applicable European Union law. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with the Service shall first be settled amicably via a request sent to contact@hartafarmacii.ro.
In the absence of an amicable settlement within 30 days, disputes shall be settled by the competent courts of Bucharest, Romania. Consumers in the European Union also have access to the European Commission’s online dispute resolution (ODR) platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
