HartaFarmacii.ro is an independent medicine price comparator and a map of pharmacies in Romania. We are a free source of data for journalists: verifiable figures, price studies and market context. You may quote our data freely — we only ask for a link to the source. Below: the project's figures, story angles and how to get in touch.

The project in figures

Data updated from the public aggregation of locations (OpenStreetMap), opening hours and the prices displayed by pharmacy chains with an online shop.

Figures derived from the database, not typed in by hand, and refreshed at least once an hour; latest data update: 8 November 2026. ‘Prices tracked’ = offers with an active price, not distinct products.

Published studies

Prices of cold and flu medicines (October 2026). 39 over-the-counter medicines, compared only where the EAN code and the pack match; median difference 7.5%, maximum 37.5%. Methodology, limitations and downloadable data (CSV). Study in Romanian.
Communes without a pharmacy (2026). 486 communes with no pharmacy or pharmacy branch, home to 853,449 people; county ranking, list of communes and distance to the nearest pharmacy. Ministry of Health and National Institute of Statistics data, CSV. Study in Romanian.
